Which medication can I no longer use after surgery?

There are a number of medications that are known to have a very negative effect on the gastric mucosa. These are the so-called NSAIDs (=non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as ibuprofen, naproxen and diclofenac. The advice is not to use it after a bariatric surgery. In exceptional cases, it can be used as a short-term treatment on the advice of a doctor, provided it is combined with good stomach protection.

If you are not sure whether you can still use a particular medicine, please contact your healthcare provider.

Also, your medication intake can be monitored via the moveUP app.
